Simon Kriegel is a research associate at the Department of Perception and Cognition at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, German Aerospace Center (DLR). After writing his diploma thesis on "Detection of arbitrarily arranged Objects in 3D images for Automated Baggage Unloading" at KUKA Roboter GmbH, he received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in Information Technology from the Technical University of Munich. He started his career at KUKA, where he assisted with different research projects in the field of object recognition and manipulation for unloading tasks with industrial robots. Now he is working at DLR with the goal to earn a PhD degree.
